Q: What is the difference between CamGuard and any other video surveillance company?

A: CamGuard is unique in that it was the first to provide temporary, portable, video surveillance services and has more experience than anyone else. Our services include an application site security assessment as it relates to camera coverage. Camera surveillance is our only business and our level of expertise in this area surpasses the competition. Other video surveillance companies offer mixed services meaning camera surveillance is not their primary offering.

Q: Why would I need a ‘temporary, portable’ video surveillance solution?

A: There are many reasons in a wide variety of applications. For example:

Asset Protection – If you have valuable property that needs watching 24/7, such as building materials at a construction jobsite, automobiles on a remote lot, computers at a trade show or a temporary container shipment sitting outside your plant, you could benefit from our temporary, portable, video surveillance solution. Anytime that you have a valuable asset that is stored temporarily, our solution can help you protect it.

Personal Security – Perhaps you have an upcoming event like a major sporting event, county fair, conference, parade, celebration, political rally, planned demonstration, or perhaps you have an impending labor strike or a convention center requiring crowd control or law enforcement. Whenever there is a reason for a crowd to gather, and you are concerned about the general welfare of the public, or your own employees, you could use our solution.

General Oversight – Beyond security applications, CamGuard services can be used in any situation where temporary video surveillance is desired. For example, say you have a project, property, event, etc. and you would like to monitor it remotely over a period of time for progress or perhaps level of activity, our systems are ideally suited to meet those needs. Or maybe you are considering a permanent video security system but would like to compare various locations prior to making a large investment, our temporary systems can be to assist you in the assessment.

Q: Who uses your service?

A: Cam Guard has many different customers in a wide range of industries, e.g. most all of the major home developers use our service to watch over their jobsites; a commercial developer hired Cam Guard to protect their assets during the construction of a major beachfront hotel; the Rose Bowl used our service to protect the crowds during the Bowl Championship Series; a Fortune 500 company used our services to observe a planned demonstration for potential problems; a mid-size company used Cam Guard to ease the tension of a labor strike; a large auto auction company uses us to watch the comings and goings of thousands of cars, etc. etc.

Q: My needs vary. Can you customize your services to meet these needs?

A: Yes. Our camera systems are designed to allow for flexibility in meeting your needs, both technologically and aesthetically. Our base systems include fixed cameras but we also offer Pan-Tilt-Zoom cameras, which you can manipulate remotely, as well. Many different alarm and notification options are also available. From a design standpoint, we offer conspicuous overt camera systems as well the capability to customize covert systems to meet those needs.

Q: Once your camera systems are installed, what are my responsibilities?

A: Our turnkey services are designed to free you from any maintenance responsibilities while allowing you to determine the extent of your involvement. If you so choose, we offer live monitoring up to 24/7 or allow you to monitor the cameras on a real-time basis. A less expensive option is one where you notify us when a theft or act of vandalism has occurred and choose whether you would like to review the video for that time frame or have our team of forensic specialists review it for you. Our team provides you with a complete report, including time-and-date stamped photos, of our findings.

Q: How do I access the video and manipulate my Pan-Tilt-Zoom cameras remotely?

A: Each of our units may be networked trough a LAN, WAN, DSL, or dial-up modem. Your access is protected from viewing by others and you can administer whoever you choose to have viewing rights. Your access and operation of the system is simply accomplished through your laptop or desktop computer.

Q: Do I need to enter into a long-term contract?

A: No, a long-term contract is not required although price discounts are available for longer term commitments.

Q: How many days of video activity is your camera system capable of storing?

A: Although our units are capable of extended long-term storage, we recommend that the captured video be downloaded, if need be reviewed, and archived to alternative media i.e. CD, DVD or hard drive storage every thirty (30) days. Long-term storage (in excess of 90 days) within the recording unit is available. With the technology employed we are able to address any storage options or requirements you might have.
